UPHC Clinics are a Success!

The first UPHC clinic was held at MM Show Horse’s facility in American Fork Utah.  Jeremy Christensen talked about fitting and showing a halter horse and Bonnie Christiansen showed us how to properly groom and band a mane for the show ring.  Lunch was served by the UJPHC for a mere $5 per person.  Afternoon session showed participants what is expected in the show ring in the way of clothes, chaps and hats.  Tina Adams, owner of Win Wear, designer and maker of custom made show clothes led this discussion.

Following that Mollie Adams, a Showmanship World Champion, demonstrated and helped participants with how to train and show a showmanship horse.

Thanks to all for their hard work, and all those who came and had fun with us!

The second clinic was held Feb. 2  at Heritage Ranch’s indoor arena in Ogden, Utah.  Marty Simper conducted both sessions with riders and their horses working on Western Pleasure in the morning and Horsemanship in the afternoon.  We also had a fair number of people to audit both sessions.

Lunch was sponsored by Dr. Tanya Bartlett of Equine Edge vet clinic. We all enjoyed soups and chili served by the UJPHC members.

Riders and auditors were treated to a great deal of “swag” sponsored by Manna Pro, IFA stores and UPHC.

Thanks to everyone who donated time, the arena space and swag to make these clinics a success. Support them where you can.

A special thanks to Sydney Elfervig for putting these clinics all together.  She has more planned for the future!  Stay tuned.
